An Excellent Sequel To a Memorable Classic

Great For Those Into Geneology! This book may be a quick read but you will be able to go back to it time and time again as you begin your memoir. The questions Ms. Tucker provides will take you back to the book to think more into your history and memories. Questions for you to think over will end each chapter, and each chapter will also begin with quotes that will inspire you.
This is a book that everyone who is writing or planning on writing a memoir should have and read.

Tucker offers thoughtful discussions of these "Driving Forces" (devoting a separate chapter to each), including also a series of mini-case studies based on companies such as Williams-Sonoma, Dell Computer, Southwest Airlines, and Charles Schwab. Please keep in mind that Tucker wrote this book almost ten years ago. So much has happened since, especially because of the Web and globalization initiatives made possible by it.
After a decade, Managing the Future remains a thoughtful, well-written book of special value to less-experienced executives. For those on higher levels of management, it may not offer much that they do not already know but it will certainly help them to clarify their thinking as they proceed into an uncertain future.

A window into the past-What makes Britton's book most entertaining and informative is that he wrote about life as it happened. While his book was edited and published after the war, it is based on daily diaries he kept. As an enlisted solider, Britton's memoirs let the reader experience what the average soldier did on a day by day basis. His observations about people, life, and the events and circumstances around him will leave you feeling you know him, and his progressive thoughts for his day leave you feeling he is your contemporary. In fact, at times you may not believe these words were written over one hundred years ago- you will be startled to realize that while time separates you, the basic thoughts and motivations of people haven't really changed all that much over the centuries. We all still want the same things from life and we still wonder about the same questions.
Memoirs of the Rebellion on the Border is a good read, and highly recommended for those interested in the lesser known campaigns of the war.

Pretty good, but fairly simplistic

I need this book
Unbeknownst to them all, O'Leary the Leprechaun has been living in their basement and is discovered by Michael on St. Patrick's Day. Michael is familiar with the tales of leprechaun's gold and desperately wants new baseball shoes. O'Leary is a very greedy leprechaun, and refuses to share his gold with Michael. Michael will have to "Make Do" as his mother says and cannot convince O'Leary to share even a small part of his gold.
During the night, greedy, old, cantankerous O"Leary has a change of heart and sews Michael a beautiful new pair of baseball shoes. Michael feels that things will be definitely getting better in their household.
Colorful book for ages 4-7, and children will learn some timely lessons in family hardships, compassion, and understanding. I thought that it was a rather cute tale and if read with a parent, the parent can help the child learn about the lessons presented in the book.
